hi all..

after giving myself a bicililn injection last week i quickly got 2 splotchy and raised rashes near the inejction site, but definitely not where i went in. they barely itched at all (only one a tiny bit 7 hours after the rash appeared) and they went away in ~24 hours. does this sound like an allergy reaction? or something else? the pa at the walk in clinic said that it was an allergy and wanted to give me steroids, but i refused them. has this happened to anyone?

I got a large, raised rash far from the injection site, after being on bicillin for 2 months. My doc was far away, so he didn't see the rash, but, told me to stop the bicillin because it sounded like an allergy. I haven't had any reactions to abx before or after this, so I'm thinking it wasn't an allergy afterall.

I think it was a lyme rash coming out in response to the treatment. I wish I had stayed on the shots because I think the rash was a sign that it was working.
