I was on the Dr. K parasite protocol and had used biltricide, ivermectin, pyrantel and albendazole. After finishing with those I started on alinia, a drug that I used for 10 days a couple of years ago. Towards the end of the two weeks on it, my head would get very hot and irritated and it would itch. It was unpleasant laying my head on the pillow at night.
I would guess that within a week my hair turned from gray to a pronounced white. Anyone else had this effect happen? Anyone know why it happened? There don't seem to be bumps on my scalp anymore after this. I'm wondering whether there were parasites in my hair follicles and when they were killed it might have also killed the follicles.

However it happened, your white hair can be attributed to H2O2 (upregulated) which was not broken down by catalase (an enzyme that we make a lot of normally).
H2O2 interfers with the production of melanin which is needed to make hair color.
The burning and itching are a result of the increased hydrogen peroxide.

I am on alinia, day two. Aching stomach. I'm only on it for three days and then go to another drug. My hair is blond today. Will I wake up with white hair? You never know with this darn disease what will happen. What were the rest of your symptoms like when on alinia? BTW, I think white hair is so much more pretty than gray:)

Today I went to get my hair cut and my hairdresser told me that my roots were coming in my normal color. She also was concerned because she said it takes significant trauma of some sort to turn someone's hair white.
Glad to have my old hair back.

I have been on alinia several times for several months at a time. I did not experience the "white" hair but I did experience severe stomach aches. However, after 6 weeks I did feel a lot better. I was also taking valtrex, riphamin, mino, and pulsing tinidimax at the time.
I'm not sure what Alinia does exactly, but I have bart, erch, and babs and really believe that Alinia helped me. I am actually thinking now that I should go back on it..I'm not sure why it makes my stomach hurt so much but I did feel a lot better once I stopped.
