You need to get a copy of your test results. Multiple genes should have been tested and it depends on which particular genes were positive as to what the test results mean.

I don't believe that genetics can't be altered... Just look into the new scientific field of epigenetics.
Dr. Yaskow also gives different, specific supplements to adjust defects in the genetics. It's a new area of study but, respectfully, I don't think anyone who says that genetics can't be altered knows what they are talking about.
Genes are specific segments of DNA that contain the instructions for creating proteins.
Genes can switch between active (directing protein production) or silent (no protein produced) phases.
Patterns of activation and silencing, known as the epigenome, exist across all the genes in a cell. The study of these patterns is called epigenetics.
Changes in the epigenome do not change a genes sequence, but rather its activity status.
The environment can alter the epigenome, changing the activity level of genes. These changes may raise or lower the risk for developing diseases like cancer, obesity and diabetes.
Some environmental factors, such as diet, not only change an individuals epigenome, but appear to influence the epigenome of future generations.
The environmental triggers that alter the epigenome and lead to disease are only beginning to be discovered.

Our first LLMD had us go through this testing, $, and the whole mold bit with our home (wasn't bad at all, but again, $)
Detox. Daughter and I both had one of the 'dreaded' genes (and 'dreaded' is ONLY Shoemakers word.)
I personally do not believe 'you won't get well' and feel very disappointed someone telling you that.
There can be different avenues on this path to wellness- sometimes we (I have) need to stand back, evaluate, and see if it is something we can do, if it rings true.
I'd say to you: Do not let this get you down, or certainly lose any hope.
