I know that as you take antibiotics for lyme, they can start to die and produce neurotoxins. does anyone know a natural way to get rid of those neurotoxins? Thanks so much!

binders should help: chlorella, activated charcoal, bentonite clay. Burbur detox is said to help but it didn't do much for me. A lot of people think sauna and coffee enemas help.
I have also heard good things about pekana big 3 detox and glutathione. These are a couple things I want to try as soon as I get the money!

Lots of lemon water, cholestyramine (prescription required), or cholestrapure supplement, activated charchoal - works best during a herx to mop up those toxins before reabsorbed, hope this helps!

I posted some info on the other thread about Lyme neurotoxins suggesting doubt that they are real.
I know it seems like "fact" since we are so ill - but there is some concern about the topic & whether the toxins exist. Do a search of PubMed for "borrelia burgdorferi neurotoxins". There aren't any published articles about it. Bb has been well studied in the past 40 years. I can't imagine why there would be only Dr. S's work on the subject.
Just a thought... Please don't shoot the messanger. I spent a bunch of time studying this & I'm a bit skeptical of this issue. If anyone can prove to me that Bb secretes a neurotoxin - please do. I don't need to be right on this subject. I'm just presenting an alternative view.

Because many of the symptoms of Lyme disease involve the nervous system, it was speculated that the spirochete produced a toxin that disrupted normal nerve function.
Through the use of DNA manipulations and a database of known protein toxin DNA sequences, a match was made with a selected Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) gene and a specific toxin in the database.
Protein generated from this cloned Bb gene was examined biochemically and found to have characteristics similar to that of botulinum, the toxin of Clostridium botulinum, a zinc endoproteinase.1
The toxin from Bb belongs to a family of toxic proteins known as "zinc endoproteinases" or metalloproteases, and includes the toxin from the organism causing tetanus as well as those from many other well-known infectious diseases. . . . -

Glad you posted these links, Keebler. The world is too darn sick even though the borreia species are not the major problem in this country, while they are in the European areas. Our problems here are much more directed at the many different Bartonellas.

Neurotoxicity is a specific thing. I don't think the 4 articles mentioned prove that Bb has neurotoxicity.

I don't doubt that these illnesses related to Lyme make us feel "toxic" but neurotoxicity is a very specific term. The people who float this term around & repost Dr. S's work may be misinformed. I like Dr. K's ideas & concepts but I don't agree with him on everything. I have also read varying reports about Dr. S & his methodology.
I just think we need to be aware & not just repost stuff from everywhere without looking into it further.
Also - I don't like the Yahoo article as posted above because the author is recommending people look at her profile to buy particular products. We live in a capitalistic country & it's not illegal to do this but it causes some doubts in my mind about the impartiality of her article - which is what makes good journalism.
I'm not against these ideas & concepts but we need some scientific verification. Otherwise, we just blindly follow what the authority figures preach to us. I'd rather think this stuff through myself with he proper references.
