Hey everyone.

I have been pulsing Artemisinin for about 8 months now. Every once in a while I don't order it in time and I miss a week or two of taking it.

Will this sort of thing cause resistance?

The Art still makes me feel miserable, that is for sure. After 8 months, I still feel run down and fluish when I take it. I really wish I could just stop taking it altogether. But the reaction tells me I'm not done yet.

I don't think it will cause resistance. Taking it daily will though (I did this with my first LLMD).

As long as you're getting a reaction, that sounds like it's working, so I would stick with it.

Are you taking Artemisinin with 1/2 cup of organic grapefruit Juice? It does not work without that. Check some of the old threads here or google it with University of Washington Prof Laigh. It explains. Many I know (I did) add it to the KLC (cocktail) by Dr. K. It works.
I have posted it several times.

Take care,

GiGI,

Would taking the ARt with grapefruit juice then make the other antibiotics not work as well because of the juice?

Thanks so much!

birdie67, ask the doctor who prescribes abx and art. I never took abx - so don't know. Many people put it in the Klinghardt cocktail with everything else and it works. I know it does not work without grapefruit juice. If in doubt, take it as a pleasant short drink with grapefruit juicea little later.

Take care.

I think that GF juice will counteract the Mepron, correct? I don't think I should drink it. I am pretty sure the Art works without it. Its making me miserable.

I take the Dr K cocktail but instead of grapefruit juice I add
Aller-C, a super vitamin C supplement...maybe that would be better since it won't effect abx?

I just started taking Artemisinin and I am on my 4th day today. I expected to get shortness of breath and it never happened.

I don't feel any different with it & I am up to 2 pills twice a day of the Doctor's Best Artemisinin. I wonder if this is a good brand and what brand are others taking?

How long before you saw a reaction?

TF, did you pulse the Art, was it on Fri, Sat, Sun (if I recall)?

My LLMD suggested I use Research Nutritionals arteminisin. It is a higher dose per capsule. Unfortunately, you need a doctors code to get it from them, but you take less capsules than the 200 mg caps that I am finding everywhere else.

Starting out with one 250 mg cap twice a day for 4 days on 3 days off. The goal is to get up to two caps twice a day with the same pulsing schedule.

One cap twice a day kicked my butt.

Just sharing my experience, I am not a doctor.

I think Dr. K likes Artemisinin in suppositories now. Biopure will come out with the product soon.

I have heard of the grapefruit juice, but I also read today that it is more effectively absorbed with oily foods. Fish oils or whole milk or yogurt.

I know that is true for Mepron, but I never heard of oils being true for Art?

I was told to take mine on an empty stomach. That's what I did.

I'm just happy I get to back down the dosage. The stuff was making me feel worse and worse. I was told to take it on an empty stomach too.
