not sure about walls. from condensation and bad floor choice and not enough insulation. not from flooding.

anyone else been thru this? maybe this should be in general...but it sure feels medical to me. i am back on 4 drugs to breathe and can hardly get words out. im in shock too. cant believe this happened. i feel so stupid...but the first 2 floor guys couldnt figure it out either-cuz water was not coming in from outside.

I have been through it. It would take a lot to cover it all here. One thing I can say is that you could have a small intrusion of water somewhere, which can spread mold into the air.

The good news is that when the source is found and corrected, you can clean the existing mold and be free of it from then on. Sometimes it is not nasty black mold, but just a form that is harmful when you are allergic to it.

Can you tell me more about what happened and how you discovered it?

I have been through it too.

My house was built in 1760 so that says alot right there. Previous owners were careless.

Found black mold in; attic, three bathrooms and kitchen. Some was hidden some not. Was in the house for 9 years before I discovered it.

Had it professionally remidiated. Now I cannot tolerate ANY amount of mold - whether it is toxic or not.

Living next to creek, the rails on my deck are growing some suspicious looking black spores. Getting it replaced ASAP.

Don't mess with it - get it taken care of.

its not from leaks...its from condensation. it is a slab-built in 57. they put fiber board down for sub floor on the slab...no vapor barrier. water is not from rain or even from under slab...just condensation...slab is cold house above rug is hot the board and pad get sopping and make mold.

in the attic-not enough insulation...metal roof...heat comes up thru house ceiling hits cold air and condensation again

i liked the remediator a lot. im sensitive from 5 yrs having to work in bad air at work. she says attic is easy fix. floors also easy-but big job. we dont yet know if it traveled up walls...that will be bad.

i know i have to fix it. just found out insurance wont cover it. i have call in to lawyer but dont think he can help. sellers sort of lied on disclosure but probably nothing i can proove. my inspector was looking for leaks---didnt know enough about slabs and condensation...nothing looked or smelled moldy so no mold inspection

anyway-im in shock. at this point my kids took out a bunch of moldy carpet and floor etc and i am still trying to clean up the mess they left. the slab looks good but is dusty and i have some floor paint that is supposed to hold down dust-im getting symptoms from that too. i could close doors to all bedrooms and use living kit and bath-maybe...but i would know the mold is still cooking in the rest of the house...if the bank doesnt lend me money i probably cant do anything...i just dont know.

i have been trying to move to a safer place for myself...this is flat not mts and warmer...but i was dx copd when in moldy building and havent had sx for 5 yrs since getting out and fixing environment...

lawyer just called...probably no case...plus he cant represent me cuz he is the realtors lawyer.

oh my my my. what am i supposed to learn from this.

thank you for your replies...just tell me how you survived it. i'll pm you phone number if talking is easier.
