Please help me, with replies, advice, suggestions. I have been giving myself bi-cillin shots weekly since December. ILADS doc took me off shots about a month ago. Just for the last week, I have been having symptoms all over again - fever, chills, pain, headaches, chest pain, auras, nausea. Prior I was on weekly IV zythro for about 6 months and times in between have been on oral antibiotics. Take a huge amount of supplements. Have been treating Lyme for 18 months. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I am so, so frightened.

Sounds like Babesia is flaring. Honestly, 18 months can be a drop in the bucket of Lyme treatment.

Are you on orals along with Bicillin? Bicillin alone won't get the co-infections.

Most docs prescribe IV and IM at a greater frequency than once/week.

Are you taking enough meds and targeting all of your infections?

Also, were you on Tindamax or Flagyl while doing the shots?

I agree with what the others are saying. You need to have taken a cyst buster (like flagyl or tindamax) along with your bicillin.

Taking only one lyme antibiotic at a time will never cure you. It is called "monotherapy." Read about it in Burrascano. "Combination Therapy" page 12.

Lyme will simply change into another form, like cyst form, if all you take is bicillin or zithromax. So, if that's all you took, it is time to find a better doctor.

Also, you will never get rid of lyme if you don't treat the coinfections. Anyone with lyme at least a year also had coinfections, per Burrascano.

So, you need treated for babs and bart at a minimum.

If these things apply to you, become an educated lyme patient so that you learn what good lyme treatment looks like. Study the Burracano Guidelines. Then, look for a doctor who follows them.

I can send you the name of a great doctor if you like. Send me a private message if you want the name.

So now I'm concerned. I just started bicillin shots along with zithromax and mepron. So are you saying I am not on a good protocol?

wheu - you will find your limits with chronic lyme )= God Bless everyone on Lymenet..

I had IM Bicillin injections for 8 months-2-3X a week.I also pulsed Flagyl with it and took Malarone. I agree that the Flagyl or Tindamax is a must!
I felt AWFUL while on this regiment! I stopped taking all medication in December 2011 and have been feeling 95% on most days for the past 5 months or so. This was after 5 years of many treatments and doctors. After the Bicillin regiment was complete I gradually started feeling better and better.
You also must treat the coinfections!

Good Luck!
Laurie

Perhaps my LLNP started me on this combo (bicillin, mepron and zith) but will add in a cyst buster later, or in place of something?? I just hope I am not wasting my time here taking bicillin shots for no reason, ugh! [dizzy]

Ellen-
Keep up with the Bicillin injections and ask your LLMD about the cyst buster. For me it took a long time to start feeling better. I was continuously herxing and wanted to give up the Bicillin after 3 months. The dr. said it could take a long time so I stuck with it!
Your body can't be bombarded with everything all at once so see what your LLMDs plan is for you. It sounds like he/she knows what hes doing.
Good Luck!

You don't need to constantly be taking a cyst buster. I will go a few months then rotate a cyst buster in. Don't think that what you're doing is not effective-- it just means its part of a bigger treatment plan.

Just talk to your Dr and make sure that the cyst buster will be added at some point.
