My 9 year old was already diagnosed with congenital Lyme and was under brief treatment last year. We have been discussing continuing his treatment soon and testing for the co-infections, but this weekend we found a tick embedded on his leg. I was able to remove the whole tick and have it saved.
Should I bother sending it off to be tested by Igenex or just test his blood for Lyme and co's since we know he is already infected? I want to get him started on antibiotics right away and hopefully will hear back from our Dr Tomorrow.
TIA for any advice.

There are places that want to test the one that bites for research... At least you know to get him on ABX's ASAP
