I was wondering if anyone had this specific symptom, not pain in the ribs but under each side of both ribs, like stabbing pains that seems to go around to your back and make your back pain worse?

Hi shannon12,

During my treatment of Lyme/Bart/Babs, I experienced a lot of chest and rib pain.

I'm not sure if what I experienced is the same as what you are dealing with, but I did have sharp pains that seemed to wrap around to my back. They were very uncomfortable.

At one point, I had acute costochondritis (inflammation of the rib joint) that gave me extremely sharp, stabbing pain whenever I inhaled, coughed, sneezed, etc.

Wishing you the best!

Yes esp. on rifampin. I also had chostochondritis once from an injury. Heat on the "hinges" or your ribs at the sides will help. there is not alot of blood flow to that area. Pain pills don't work.

Rockette-yes I noticed that moist heat helps, it kind of feels like muscle spasms or something, I was just wondering if this was a lyme symptom or something else, in my 9 years, this was a newer symptom starting a few years ago.

manybites- you mentioned babesia can be responsible for pain in shoulders and neck, i'm starting to think more and more i have babesia also.

A question, do you think some herbs plus mepron would be enough to treat babesia, and what herbs, I would also stay on all my other meds. thanks

jwick25-yes i think this is similar, when I described it to some nurse co workers they thought it was gallbladder but it was not.
