I read that plaquenil should not be taken with coartem, does this mean that it should be discontinued weeks before due to the long half life?
I have been on plaquenil for months and am switching from a lyme to babesia combo. After the coartem I will be doing malarone and clindamycin. Is it ok to add artemisinin as well or should I hold off on the artemisinin between coartem pulses?
thanks, feel free to pm me with whatever specific combo/dosages worked best for you.

I was told to stop plaquenil and all other meds that interacted 3 days before taking coartem. Your doctor should give you specific instructions. Macrolides (like zith) and quinolones (like levaquin) also need to be stopped.
Once you finish the coartem you can restart your meds 3 days later.
You should be able to add art to you malarone and clinda combo.

Check drugs.com interactions checker for which drugs you need to be careful of.
