I haven't been on for awhile. I have been doing
sooooo good!! I even was hope that I would be
having my last dr. appt. coming up soon.
Then a week ago friday I found the back of my leg
itching. I did not think anything of it. On Sat
I asked my husband to look at it and he said there
was a small rash there. Again, I didn't think
anything of it. On Sunday I came down sick.
By Wed I could barely function. On thurs my dr
took me off my meds which was down to 100mg of
Doxy a day. Today is sunday and i still hurt all
over. My hands are shaking my feet hurt and I
have no energy or hope. Is this a relapse???
Any feed back for m????

Sounds like a new bite! Get back on full dose! You may be able to finish it off quickly.

Yes, almost sounds like a new bite and new infection. Your immune sys is lowered with ABX and if you don't hit the new infection with the proper ABX for your new dose of critters, then they easily explode.
Did you go on the grass or brushed up against bushes the day you discovered the rash, or perhaps shortly before the rash discovery?

I didn't get back to you because i've been so sick.
I was at a retreat that was set in the woods and a
lake 2 says before the rash. 2 weeks ago my
husband and I rented a cabin on the betsie river.
we stay there 2 days but were on the beach of
Lake Michigan most of the time.
My dr took me off the abxs to regroup then put me
back on the abxs to see if i get herx again. Im on
day 2 and I woke up last night in so much pain.
Today I am tired and achy. Im very nervous and scared.

I'm so sorry to hear about this! I totally agree that this sounds like a re-infection, and that being back on the abx is the way to go.
Be sure to keep an eye out for co-infections -- I seem to have picked up babesia long after Lyme, when I was bitten again, and it made the whole thing much worse.
I hope the treatment helps you quickly.
I totally understand the fear -- I threw myself into a relapse just recently by getting too stressed and run down, and I am scared, too --- but we can and do heal, and that is the most important thing to keep in mind.

It does sound like you were re-infected. What bad luck! I hope you can get rid of it quickly.
