Has anyone ever gotten a clear runny nose from a herx?

I started to get a fever and swollen/mildly sore throat almost a week ago. The fever was 103 now down to 100-101 but I'm still taking advil. Prior to the fever I had been headed downhill for weeks and things got worse after adding Plaquenil to doxy and rifampin.

I hardly ever get "colds" and I haven't been around anyone who was sick. Do you think this is a herx or a cold? I'm also having a lot of pain in my muscles and joints which could be from the fever or an exacerbation of my normal Lyme and coinfection symptoms.

I was also in the woods recently and saw quite a few ticks on my clothes although I didn't see any attached. I'm thinking I'm pretty much covered with the meds I'm on but is it possible it could be yet another re-infection?

Oddly enough I am extremely hungry also for the first time in months. Yet I'm losing weight again.

Hey Summer,

Toxins (herxing) are released from your system by way of sweating (skin)- first choice- and through the sinuses (draining) second choice.

I can't say for sure if that is your situation, but I do know it could be.

Feel better soon!

Summer,

I'm having runny noise with clear mucus, coughing, fever and muscle pain right now. Although its been about 2 years since my body has herxed this much, it feels very familiar!
