Call your GP. You may need to have an image done ASAP.

This may have nothing to do with lyme, or it may. Regardless, you need to be seen by an MD ASAP. They need not know about lyme to assess you regarding this condition. There are many causes.

Wiki provides a start to learning about this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderclap_headache

Thunderclap Headache

Excerpt:

. . . It can be indicative of a number of medical problems, most importantly subarachnoid hemorrhage, which can be potentially life-threatening. Usually, further investigations are performed to identify the underlying cause. . . .

Thunderclap Headaches

by two MDs: Schwedt & Dodick

Excerpt:

. . . Thunderclap headache (TCH) refers to a severe headache of sudden onset. Its explosive and unexpected nature is likened to a "clap of thunder."

Although TCH initially referred to pain associated with an unruptured intracranial aneurysm, multiple etiologies have since been described . . . .

Dear Lymetoo~ I have also had tremendous head pressure, creaky neck and neck pain.

Keebler~Let me explain further. I did go to the ER and I had a CT scan, bloodwork, an X-ray and was put on morphine. I later had another episode and was brought back to the ER and had another CT scan. Then two days later had a spinal tap to make sure that there was no brain bleed. There was none.

Thank you for all your support and info. I gather you guys have not had this?

Good to know you've been assessed but sorry that it continues.

Magnesium may need to be increased or type changed. That's the first thing to consider regarding headaches. And if you are dehydrated or toxic (getting good liver support?).

What do I do about liver support? No clue. I have been taking 500 mg of magnesium per day and I stopped taking Prednisone.

You may need more magnesium - and always in divided doses 2 to 3 x day. Never all at once.

The Importance of Magnesium to Human Nutrition
--------

TAURINE may also be good to add. And Fish Oil - search: OmegaBrite.

This form of magnesium looks good: magnesium L-threonate - forget who posted this:

------------

These headaches could be related to stopping prednisone but I'm not sure.

Consider that prednisone was just stopped (hope you tapered off slowly) . . . your adrenals probably need some nourishment and support.

Headaches can be due to hormonal imbalance. Suggestions here might help:
