Our doctor has prescribed 500mg 4X day of Flagyl IV for our daughter. Does this seem high to anyone ? She is 20yrs old and under 100 pounds.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Has she ever been on flagyl before, pill form perhaps? This can be a challenging drug. Sometimes people ramp up for that reason.
But here is what online drug info site says about dosage:
Bacterial Infections
Adults: The usual oral dose is 7.5 mg per 2.2 pounds of body weight taken by mouth every 6 hours. The usual duration of therapy is 7-10 days; however, this may vary depending on what type of infection you have. For more serious infections, Flagyl will be given intravenously (through a vein).
Also look at page 18 of Dr. B's treatment guidelines (see sticky at top of forum).
