I too, get this. It is often a clue that I am going to relapse. I hate the feeling. I do not know how to solve this one... Glad someone brought it up, I thought I was just nuts!

at times during my fight with lyme i gag esp when brushing teeth...this i thought was related to the disease...
but throat closing up when eating sounds like ana-fa-lac-tic shock...and is serious

I have had this for ten years now when I first got sick. I thought it was related to Hashimotos Thyroiditis (which I have) but now I'm not sure what's caused it. I also have burning mouth. When I first got sick ten years ago and was misdiagnosed with panic attacks at an ER (my first ER trip ever) they prescribed Alprozalom (Zanax) and it seems to help when it gets really bad. I also use an ice pack across my throat and walk around the house until the symptom subsides, sometimes it can take up to two hours. I think it has to to with nerve damage associated with Lyme Disease and detox pathway issues. Eating is not a joy like it used to be. Sometimes it occurs when I'm not eating. C.P.
