Have any of you heard of the Germany Heat Treatment for Lyme?

Do you know exactly what it is? Do they induce fevers?

Do you know how long the treatment course lasts?

How much the treatment costs?

Has anyone gotten better with this?

Any thoughts?

I'm curious. This has been suggested for me but I don't really know anything about it.

Years ago, when I thought I was to have a little money, I considered going to Italy for this and researched it in detail. Later, a doctor in Atlanta started doing it but that did not last long.

It's called ICHT (Intra-Cellular Hyperthermia)

As I recall: heating the body to somewhere around 108 degrees F for several hours, several different times over the 3 weeks I would have been there. Then, to return every few months for a while.

Still, that is not hot enough to kill lyme and has risks.

I know one doctor in Italy is doing something like that for OTHER conditions (NOT lyme, though).

There have been some very serious bad reactions (including fatality) from the intense heat treatments in other countries (such as Italy and also in the US in Atlanta).

Heat can also cause neurological damage to those with lyme due to demyelination that often is caused by lyme. Just one reason that only low heat infrared saunas are suggested (not the regular kind as they get too hot).

IMO, heat can be very dangerous for anyone with lyme.

Not sure if whomever you got wind of in Germany is doing that same technique (which may also involve an IV Rx that seriously messes with blood glucose levels so as to intensify the effect of treatment).

It's impossible to get the body hot enough to kill lyme without killing the patient. Spirochetes HATE heat (and vibration) and they get angry and spew out more toxins.

Heat forces spirochetes to burrow deeper and go into the its protective cyst form.

if you are considering Germany, some have seen success with the BIONIC 880 method.

Do you have some kind of link or name to that Germany clinic you are wondering about? I'd like to take a look at it to see if it's basically the same as ICHT or different.

Thank you Keebler. A doctor mentioned it to me. I don't have any more information about it. It probably is the ICHT that you are familiar with.

It's kinda disappointing to hear that the treatments don't work. At the same time, it is a relief for me. I cannot afford to go to Germany so now I will not wish to go to Germany for a treatment that is so far out of reach.

Sammy,

It may not be ICHT that he has in mind, though. You might ask for some clarification and a professional contact/link. It could be using heat in a very different way. It may not even be high heat.

While we can't get hot enough to safely kill spirochetes, low heat infrared saunas do have their place in helping us heal. Maybe someone has a special technique or timing sequence, etc.

I'd sure like to know exactly what your doctor had in mind, if not ICHT.

Aside from that, what about RIFE?

I was one on the ones that went to Atlanta and had it done, I did it for two months and though it did not cure me, it definitely helped.

I don't think he had any die from it in Atlanta, but he opened a clinic in Mexico to start doing there as well and he did have a very ill woman die from it there and as soon as that happened, he closed the clinic in Mexico and stopped doing it.

He was then partners with the Dr. in Germany that does it as well.

Again, it does help but certainly not a cure and not worth the money to travel to Germany to have it done.
