I changed pharmacies and My 100mg doxy came in blue caps instead of orange tabs. Is there a difference ? Are the blue ones stronger?

- As long as both are labeled 100 mg, they should be the same therapeutic dose. However, capsules are usually kinder on the esophagus as the medicine won't "melt" on its way down.
Still, sit or stay upright for at least 30 minutes after taking it, as always with doxy and many other antibiotics. This helps to prevent it "backing up" into the esophagus and causing irritation.
It's best to go ahead and look up the manufacturer / company for the pills you just got.
Be sure yours look just like the official photo in every detail. Counterfeits can look so close. It's just good to check each time.
It's also good to double check that you received the proper dosage. Color coding helps (though I hate all that dye).
If you are sensitive to certain fillers, be sure to also see what the inert (inactive) ingredients are in your new pills. -

Make sure the capsule doesn't slip apart when ingesting! My good friend had a *horrible* time with one dose some months back, while taking 4 weeks of "doxy" (after a "high risk bite"). His throat was raw for a day or 2 after he gagged horribly on a capsule that broke apart way too soon on the way down.

The capsules (blue) made me throw up, so I went back to the tablets (orange).
It didn't matter how much food I ate. I think when the capsule breaks it just floods the stomach with doxycycline.

I was prescribed doxy and was given it in tablets. Then next time I went to another pharmacy and they gave me capsules which I could not tolerate because of nausea and intestinal issues. Then I made sure I got the tablets the next and the tabs were satisfactory.
