Just learned today I have high estrogen levels. I'm still waiting to see what my doctor wants to do about them. Looking for some suggestions. I am 49 and had my uterus and cervix removed in 16 years ago. I'm not over weight and eat a clean diet of organics, no meat, and am now on a no sugar and gluten diet.

Apple pectin will naturally lower them. I had very high levels from perenopause and Lyme.

I was the opposite - very low estrogen. I started bio-identical hormones but there is a lot of controversy over using them. Do many of you out there use bio-identical hormone replacement?

My daughter and I both use a bio-identical cream. We just order ours through Arbonne.
I highly recommend it if your estrogen is high. Progesterone is important for nerve endings, the brain, elminating dead cells, etc.
Go to JohnLeeMD and do some reading.
Get a bio-identical progesterone cream, in a vacuum sealed, premeasured pump. It must dispense 20mg. You can do half a pump in the am, then the other half at night.
If you are really high in estrogen, and low in progesterone (most likely, progesterone is used up in stress--chronic illness is stress), you can use a full pump twice a day.
Even men benefit, especially for their prostate.
For a man and menopausal woman, 25 days on, five days off. For women with periods, count the first day of your period as day one. Then apply the cream days 12-26.
If you are menopausal, get a progesterone cream that also contains some soy for estrogen properties, if you are experiencing hot flashes. It really helps.

Think twice before you use any hormons - bio-identical or not. I used bio-identical progesterone cream for about 4 years when I found out that I had breast cancer which was highly dependent on estrogen and progesterone. I don't think that the progesterone caused the cancer but it was certainly feeding it like manure.
When you are female and over a certain age then the probability of developping breast cancer is 1 in 8 women. About 80% of these breast cancers are dependent on estrogen and/or progesterone. If you take progesterone cream you are FEEDING your cancer with it.
In hindsight I must say it was madness to take that cream. I warn every woman against it.

I took 2 apple pectin at night-it also helps mop up toxins!
When your liver is stressed it can't eliminate estrogen-are you doing good liver support?

Gabrielle. You are the absolute first person I have ever hear getting breast cancer from progesterone. Progestin, yes, but not progesterone.
300 plants make progesterone molecularly identical to human.
I am not a doctor, and my advice was only for those who choose to use it. However, it has saved my daughter and my life. And I know women with breast cancer who are given progesterone cream because the progesterone keeps the tumor from matastisizing. (spelling?)
Whatever you do, do your own homework. My firm caution is stay away from the birth control pill.

I said that I don't think that the progesterone CAUSED the cancer. I said that it was FEEDING it because my cancer - as most of the breast cancers - are feeding on estrogen and/or progesterone and make them grow faster.
I'm strictly forbidden to use the cream anymore by several doctor's advice. I never heard that progesterone could prevent tumors from metastizing. If this was the case then every woman with BC would get it routinely. But the advice for women with BC is: no more hormons!
I regret that I ever took it.
