Dear Friends,

For those of you dealing with biotoxicity (HLA-DRB-DBQ genetic detox problem), if you took cholestyramine, can you tell me how long you were on the cholestyramine before you saw an improvement in functioning? Or, if you found a different solution(s) can you let me know that as well?

I recently became so toxic that I had to temporarily discontinue antibiotic therapy altogether, and am trying cholestyramine. I am taking just a quarter of a 4 oz. packet per day, and the process is painful, of course. I am just wondering if any of you have gone through this and how long this portion of your road was. I'm also wondering if you saw a big difference in antibiotic tolerability between having the cholestyramine and not having it, once you resumed or increased antibiotic therapy while on the cholestyramine.

Finally, if you could recommend a good doctor who is both an LLMD and also proficient in detox/HLA issues/cholestyramine, I would appreciate a recommendation. I live in Northern Virginia but might be able to travel when I am a bit stronger.

Thank you!

I take it, I started on the same dose as you, I took it with high dose fish oil 3 caps 3x a day to reduce the inflammation that CSM can cause.

After a week I went up to 1/2 tbs, then up to 1. I have stayed at only 1 full dose a day. My LLMD wants me to do more but this stuff binds to everything, abx, supplements, and there is only so much time in a day.

Once I got up to the full dose I started to notice a difference after about 4 weeks. Then one day a couple of months later the veil lifted, and I actually started to feel like myself again.

As far as I'm concerned I think this stuff is awesome and I so wish I had started it earlier in my treatment.

Best to you.
R

I don't think I take enough of it to have that side effect. If it gives you trouble can take Metamucil, or another Psyllium product., per Dr S.

Hey Joshua 1:5 (great verse)

I'm getting ready to start CSM and i'm seeing an LLMD who follows Dr. S. protocol here in VA.

If you shoot me a PM I will let you know who and where.

I was on the CSM therapy for 8 months and never saw any difference in symptoms. I am loaded with heavy metal toxicity because of detox pathway issues as well as some molds. Dr. R. Sho... is located in Maryland which would probably be a few hours from where you live, so you should try to get an appt. to see. him. He's the one who stumbled upon the CSM protocol, so I'd go to the source, especially since you live so close.
C.P.
Also be careful about the sugar free CSM because it can affect heart rhythms, etc. due to the artifical sweetners in it.

I'm taking the CSM as well.

I'm one that tested positive for Mold Toxin issues on the HLA-DR Test.

I started in February and have seen a great amount of difference. I had a LOT of neurotoxins. If you know about the C4a Test, then I'll tell you that mine was one of the highest my doc had ever seen.

My nerves were so toxic I couldn't even tolerate simple viatmins. Everything gave me palpitations. I couldn't even eat! The CSM has been a huge help in taking down the toxicity.

I get mine from a compounding pharmacy, and it doesn't have any sugar in it.

I agree if you can go see Dr. S as mentioned before. He's the pioneer in this stuff and should be able to help. Did you test + for the mold toxins on the HLA DR Test? What else have you tested for mold? Did you test your house?

Anyways, hope this is helpful for you.

Chootik,

I too tested high for C4a and for genetic detox problems on the HLA test. I will write you separately to compare notes on this, if you don't mind.
