I hate the thought of Long term Abx. I've gone at this now for about 3 years and in every direction from Herbs to Salt/c --> Rife, etc.

I Herx from everything and perhaps I bump up too quick but this time I wanted to go slow and see what Doxy would do for me since so many praise it and it's the Drug IDSA docs will throw at you first.

I've been on Doxy 100mg 2 x day for about 3 weeks now. I tried 200mg 2 x day, but that was too much. I feel that the current dose is too much too but any less and I would think it would be ineffective.

Is it normal to have Muscle Pain from such a small dose. I get Nauseated and Dizzy about 10 min. after I take a pill even if it's while I'm eating a meal. I don't remember aching like this in the past, but perhaps I have. It's def. getting into my brain. Amazingly, as sick as this is making me feel, I havn't cried in a good while. My Anxiety is still an issues, but it's not as bad as it can be since being on the Doxy.

I find myself in front of a Heater several times per day to try and keep warm.

I'm not sure if I'm Herxing or not. I'm sure many of you would say yes. I know the Muscle Pain is inflammation. I'm trying lots of Supps for Detox and Inflammation, but they don't seem to be working.

I am one of those that continuously Herx. I wish so badly that I could just have one normal day.

And mornings are still so terrible. My Achiles tendons are so tight and painful right out of bed. Why is this ? Once I'm up and walk around for a bit, they loosen up. And the other thing that is concerning is my right eye still. When I get up from a nights sleep, I come to my office chair and just sit trying to wake up. I get so much fluid coming out of my right eye similar to what I would get if I was crying my eyes out. It's like a gush of tears but I'm not crying. What the heck is this ? Again, just my right eye. This is the eye that get swollen and droopy on me from time to time.

So, do I stick with the Doxy. I have taken a day off here and there. But 3 weeks in, I don't see myself feeling any better and I could never add a second drug. Although I'm not crying, I'm not in the best mood either.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.

Best,

Gary

My husband can handle almost any medication the Drs throw at him...he's on IV Clindamycin, was on IV Rocephin and takes Septra and Zith...however, even he had a hard time and couldn't tolerate Doxy.

You're not alone.

I react to everything too...I chose to stick it out and for me, it was worth it. Back on doxy 200BID and it sucks, no 2 ways about it but I am religious about detoxing so that helps...I could not LIVE without my epsom salt baths...have you tried that?

My right eye swells and gets droopy. I think eye drop antibiotics have helped. I'm sure you've done all there is to do though.

I remember vividly you posting pictures of bugs you were passing. Not sure what you were taking at the time, but all I can think of is parasites. Without question, I think you should consider treating for parasites (long term). Doxy hits filarial worms.

For me, BY FAR, the most progress I've had is these last 4+ months treating parasites. I am still passing them daily (which I cannot believe myself!). I've done several rotations of meds. For the last several weeks I've just been doing Para A and salt/c (1/4 tsp twice daily). I seem to be having about the same results as the meds.

I think parasites are perhaps the most under-treated infection that all us Lymies suffer from. I wish I knew to treat them years ago.

Best to you,

Gary,

Glad to see it's not just me reminding you about going after the parasites that you posted about. Don't understand why you you are resistant to going after them??

Adding Ivermectin to the doxy could be very beneficial for you. You can get it from the vet stores. Or maybe add Parastroy along with the doxy.

Just want to see you get well friend. [Smile]
