My understanding, the C looking half ring forms IS FL1953/protomyxzoa.

Just wanted to say that the best summary of info about protomyxzoa may be on betterhealthguy.com's site.
Here is the link from the 2012 Physicians Roundtable conference, where Scott summarizes info from Dr F about protomyxzoa rheumatica:
Here are a couple of the points from Scott's notes from Dr C's talk (there are many more in the link):
In some cases, it has been observed that low levels of Babesia duncani antibodies with a negative FISH could be an indicator for Protomyxzoa rheumatica. FL1953 (Protomyxzoa rheumatic) can be found in red blood cells on a smear done by Fry Labs. May appear as hypochromic red blood cells.

Decrater48 -- the bit about the positive B duncani antibodies is interesting -- don't remember reading those notes before.
Hospital doc has agreed to order test from F lab -- I know it is long shot but that is one of the few tests hubby has not done. We decided to do the Spiro Stat test in April instead of the F lab test. Thought surely a test for 30 different organisms would show something.

That is very interesting about FL1953 and the B. Duncani link.

I missed part two of the question. Neither my husband nor I have been tested for FL1953.
