Last year right around this time, I felt pain on the right side of my left leg spanning from the middle of the calf/shin area to halfway up the thigh.

There were subcutaneous nodules, I thought they might have been lymph nodes. After a while the pain went away and I didn't really notice anything.

Then, a few weeks ago this symptom showed up again. No bumps or nodules, just tenderness below the skin. Perhaps this is part of the fall Lyme flare?

Anyone experience anything similar and have an idea of what it might be?

i have really bad pain in my shins... and it goes up to about midthigh sometimes.

if i wasnt on tramadol, i don't know how i would keep from killing myself from my leg pain [Razz]

it's weird, because the ONLY pain medicine that helps my shin pain is tramadol...

however, tramadol does not help with ANY of my other pain.

i blame my pain on a strain of bartonella... not sure if it's the same for you or not.

if you can get a prescription for tramadol, it's worth a try..

Sounds kinda like the same thing. You're right, could be bartonella. I have never taken any kind of abx for lyme and co's, and don't plan to if I can avoid it. I'll try some add'l bart frx with the rife and see what happens. I thought it was borrelia so I rifed that area with borrelia frx. I'll switch it to bart and see what happens.

Thanks for your response, and I'm sorry that your pain is so bad. Mine really isn't that bad. A few weeks ago when the fall flare started, I noticed it when standing up, but since then it's subsided and I only feel it when I massage that area. It's more or less tender to the touch, but not painful otherwise.

I hope you're feeling much better soon.
