In addition to everything else...Lyme, heavy metals, not working....I am now very concerned about mold in the rental where my bf and I live.

The house is old, and not well taking care of. It had water damage from a leaky roof last year. The roof has since been fixed but the house still always smells musty. No matter how much I clean.

There is a wall that had a lot of water damage and I've been concerned about mold for a bit. The landlord finally opened up the wall and had a contractor come and look. He also had a mold inspector. But the mold inspectors report is very fuzzy and gives little info and does not feel very thorough.

Before they opened the wall I did an at home air sample kit and am awaiting the results.

I am also very concerned about mold in the basement and attack, and in all the places we can't see. I hate to be skeptical but I don't really trust the mold inspection report that was done.

My bf and I are living at my parents home for now, at least till the wall is repaired. But I'm still very very concerned of how safe the house is, and even is going to be after they fix that one wall.

It's been stressful on my relationship too. With two dogs and me not working finding an affordable dig friendly place for us to move to is almost impossible. But I'm really nervous the house is unsafe, the inspection not thorough, and the fix will be half assed.

How can I know I'm safe? Do I have any options? Money is so tight? I'm sure someone else out there has gone through something similar. Do I have options? What should I be asking?

I just want to live in a clean safe place. I don't want to live in that house any longer, I don't feel safe there. But I don't know if we have any other option. Or if I'm just over reacting.

I have some pictures of the wall but I don't know if its possible to post them.

Do you feel any better being out of there?

I think there are things you can do to help detox this stuff,, I need to know also.

I'm sure I saw a post in last couple of day's besides mine.
We can't see or smell anything..
.
But Six goofy had some in her mattress,

So we just took the topper I had on bed from the same type of material as hers, off last night and threw out about 6 pillows.

Cleaned sheets . Now discussing any test. We had place looked at a few days ago .Except for one 2 inch spot that didn't even go to drywall. Nobody found any hints.

He also knew how our bathtubs were installed and they had lips behind tile to prevent water build up.

I'm wondering if exposed wood without a finish is a problem.. Maybe someone answered that on my post

I say keep on searching for a place and gradually you may find one.

No use of testing and going through all this. I was tough and worked in my unfinished and rather cold basement for a few months. I worked from home when I first moved here and my lungs started to burn after a while.

Now I have trouble breathing and have chest pains and burns, positional breathing at times. I have trouble breathing when the air is too hot around me as well.

I was strong and virile before that and could tackle anything. I never saw any mold downstairs and my inspector tests for mold before the house purchase. It smelled musky but not even that bad. I would not trust the test for anything anymore.

Not worth it in my opinion and experience. The last thing you need is more problems, as if you did not have enough already.
