When I started detox baths years ago, yes they were taxing for me. Flushing and just a wiped out feeling.

Everything with this illness is a "getting through it experience". I hope you understand how I mean that. One must detox, the skin is the largest organ in the body.

So doing as much detoxing through the skin as possible is best. Originally I started with the 2 cups epsom salt, 1 cup baking soda and the peroxide recipe.

It didn't take long to figure out the hydrogen peroxide was too much too soon for me. But even after eliminating peroxide, yes the baths were taxing.

But I knew that was a good thing and just continued them. During the winters when my pain is typically worse, my detox baths became my favorite pain treatment.

The baths became beneficial over time and then became a life saver with pain relief added in.
Even if the pain relief was for 2-3 hrs, it was heaven to me.

You are very toxic and everthing you try is going to feel counterproductive because it feels harmful. These episodes can go on for a long time until your body finally starts to open up the detox pathways.

Detoxing is not an easy ride. It can be alarming the effects it can have on ones body. One must take it slow and continue on because detox is worth it.

Remember to drink good water before the detox baths and certainly good more and more water for hours after. Don't try to add any other combos of detox methods on top of each other until your body has adapted to one method.

I would say your body is in great need of mag and giving it thru the skin is going to be beneficial. I understand how scary it is to try to do good things and your body is screaming no.

How much is 20% of what recipe? Some recipes I've seen on the web say 4 cups or more of epsom salt?

Pam

Hi thanks.....I am the photoxed Lyme person loving in a dark basement now for 5 mos.... 30+ docs and no help!! So thanks for your assistance. My skin is very fragile b/c I obtained the phototox from a bizarre and violent drug reaction....burned and prickles for 4 mos some better but not a recovery!! My skin could not even withstand a plain old bath for months...then a phase where I could not put anything on my skin w/o tasting it!?? So just still here today after a detox bath I suppose is some progress ....(grateful grateful). I added about 1/4 cup Epsom and 1/4 cup bicarb. Still scratchy feeling today but possibly just possibly alittle more tolerant of incandescent light today... [Smile]
