Has anyone experienced this? It feels like someone is taking a sharp knife and is twisting it in your jaw. The pain gets so intense that I don't want to move or talk. It can happen at night during sleep and, of course, it wakes me up, or during the day without warning or anything triggering it. I think it might be some kind of nerve spasm??? Any idea? Thanks,

I get this sometimes...I think it could be trigeminal neuralgia with you but it might also be tmj issue. Have you ever worn a night guard? That might help a little if you have tmj. Jess.

Where in the jaw? The jaw joint? or somewhere else. Upper jaw bone, lower jaw bone, front, side, etc.
