After 25 years with LYme, I am having a new flare up (again and agian), I am dealing with a new Internest who wants to do a blood test (very difficult to assess after multiple acute flare ups and being on IV Rocephrin for years at a time. Their office sends blood work to Quest. I have never had my blood work sent anywhere but to Igenex, both for the Western Blot and for co-infections. I am trying to find an Independent lab who will send my blood work to Igenex (Woodstock, NY). Does anybbody have any suggestions?

Your hospital lab may do it. Sometimes you can get the blood drawn at a Quest lab for another lab, but I'm not sure they would know to spin the blood, etc.

Why don't you call the lab at Igenex and request a kit?

The Igenex site has a list of the tests they do...you could copy that page and show it to your doctor, and he could pick the ones he wants to do.

But if you actually have the kit in hand, it has specific directions on which color tube to use, and info about spinning it down before sending it to the lab.

Most of the stuff in the "kit" is the packaging needed to FedEx it back to Igenex.
A protective box, ziplock bag, and the self-addressed envelope for FedEx.

BE SURE TO READ ALL DIRECTIONS.

When I had mine done, I took it home with me, made sure the forms were filled out, packed it up, and phoned FedEx to pick it up.

They'll send you the kit for free, but you'll need to enclose payment for the tests when you FedEx it back to them.
There is no obligation to use the kit if you change your mind.
