Hey all. I'm currently taking Mepron, Azithromycin, Acyclovir and Monocycline to try to combat babs and lyme. I am having a pretty awful time with the die off/side effects of all the meds. I'm supposed to take the meds until January when I go see my llnp again. She said that hopefully because I was able to catch this early, this dose of meds should knock it out. My real question is, has anyone felt the effects of the meds after you stopped taking them? I'm worried that this feeling will never subside, even when I'm off of them. I'm fairly certain that everything I'm feeling at this point is basically due to the meds and not so much the diseases.

As a general rule, when you stop a medication the side effects of that medication go away.

There are a few rare exceptions. These are mostly with the meds in the class known as fluoroquinolones. Meds in this class are levaquin and cipro, to name the ones most frequently given to lyme patients.

So, your "side effects" should go away. Tell us what the feeling is and what you think are side effects and we can be more definitive.

My guess is that you are NOT suffering from side effects of meds but instead are having flares of lyme and babesiosis which occur during treatment.

Give us the symptoms to be sure.

If you can get rid of lyme and babs by just 5 months of treatment, you will be very fortunate.

Soreguy- I saw that you are taking Acyclovir. Do you know why you were put on it?? I am wondering the same thing about me when I dont have herpes. I was just put on Valtrex but had to stop because I had a horrible headache which is what I think was caused by it. That or all my other meds.

I am also on Mepron and Zithromax, as well as Bactrim and Doxycycline. I also just added artemisinin and Cryptolepsis. I have had several bad herxes. Also, the meds have definitely increased my head pressure and have given me headaches, fatigue, tiredness.

What exactly are you feeling? Do you take detox baths or try to sweat at all? Lemon water?

I started to feel better 24 hrs after stoppping mepron. I felt terrible on that med. Unfortuntately, after 4.5 months I was still suffering with babs sx so I dealt with all that for nothing.
