My husband and I both have the gene. He drinks several cups of coffee a day and his homocysteine is fine. I only drink two cups and mime is fine too.
There must be other factors besides this gene and coffee that raises the homocysteine in certain individuals.

My doctor told me that people with the gene who are also gluten intolerant or allergic have a greater risk for high homocyesteine levels.

I don't have high homocysteine levels, but what is considered normal? I don't have a problem with caffeine either, never makes me jittery or whatever.(I don't dink loads of coffee/soda or tea)
well I thought I didn't, is a homocysteine level of 8.5 considered high?
