Hi everyone...I was wondering if anyone with vertigo also felt as if they were being pulled to one side. When I am really dizzy I literally feel my whole body being pulled and kind of lurching to the right. It is so annoying, and vertigo is THE most miserable symptom.

Has anyone experienced that pulling sensation with their vertigo/dizziness? I guess it just feels so bizarre I just wanna be reassured I am not alone in this. Man, the symptoms of this illness are so freaky at times. Thanks in advance. Jess.

A friend of ours had the feeling of being pulled off to one side. It was really bad - she said it felt like the foot on that side dropped down farther then the other also.

1. Vestibular system (inner & middle ear)

2. Brain balance systems

Be sure to discuss with your LLMD.

Very common to be pulled sharply to one side when the vestibular system is involved (and that is very common with lyme and other tick-borne infections), nutritional deficiencies and other relating toxicities.

This pull can be slight (hitting the door frame when walking through?) or even very quick "lurching" pulls, even sudden drops or sharp pulls forcing one to the ground (Tumarkin's otol

Be very careful regarding driving as, even when seating, if something suddenly crosses your sight of vision, your body can react sharply (and dangerously to you and others). It's really best to NOT DRIVE until you have medical guidance on this and it is settled down.

But it can come on suddenly, too, so it's vital to avoid all that can make it worse and do whatever you can to help, while treating lyme. Be sure your LLMD is made aware.

If they think you need to see a neurotologist there are certain specific tests but that may not be necessary as the vestibular system is very often just clobbered during lyme and treatment and it can resolve with the right care, guided by your LLMD.

The brain balance areas are also often involved with lyme, et.al. It may take remission to see this symptom resolve but there are many things you can avoid and others to do while going through lyme treatment.

As you are vegan, be sure to get TAURINE every day, along with your MAGNESIUM, in divided doses. Essental fatty acids, too.

Ear specialists advise avoiding: gluten; dairy; corn; soy; (each of these can cause ear inflammation and also a cytokine storm with brain swelling - and full body inflammation that impede balance).

Even a trace of gluten can trigger the sudden pulls or vertigo. The swelling causes in the ears and brain can be profound from even a trace of gluten so be sure to search for Hidden Sources of Gluten.

GMO foods can also cause a cytokine storm throughout the body & brain.

Avoid all food additives and processed foods.

Avoid environmental triggers such as scented products and even household cleaning chemicals.

Avoid ALL fluorescent lights, avoid TV that shifts fast (especially any show with violence).

Stay out of big box stores. Avoid any store that spews scents at you. Many do this to trigger shopping in your brain, really.

Rest with head (from hips/torso, not neck) elevated at a 30% angle (higher than legs).

Check to see if ANY of your RX are OTOTOXIC. If so, and if vital, liver support (such as NAC) may help offset. Ototoxic links in second set below.

I am so sorry that you can relate phyl but thanks for making me feel less alone. I also cannot lie flat anymore-I always need pillows to prop me up. MISERY is indeed the only word that sums it up. I hope we both see relief from this soon. Thanks again for the response. Jess.

Jess,

Homeopathy may be able to help reduce the vertigo. Rhus Tox is a remedy that describes vertigo with nausea, and with falling to the right, so this remedy may be helpful for you.

Jess, if you find any relief please let me know and I will do the same..I tried to take a shower this morning and had to hold on with one hand my balance was so off , do you have balance problems? I feel like a vertigo is on the way a lot of times , like the inside of my head is spinning then there are times I have horrible vertigo for hrs and hrs, so hard to describe.. Also my vision is blurry .. Went to ENT and he says sinus and ear infections and was given clindamycin...which is or was one of my meds for lyme..Maybe some relief but it always returns.. I do find a decongestant and xanax help me tolerate the MISERY..

I had the being pulled to the said feeling once...

I stood up from the couch, felt like my all my weight was in my left slide, and then my body literally slammed into the ground onto my leftside.

I've never fell so hard in my life...

It was a very crazy sensation for sure!

Fortunately I don't feel like that on a regular basis... it was a one time freak occurance.

I just always feel like I'm walking on a wet floor and I'm going to lose my balance and fall at any moment.

I'm sure what your feeling is most likely lyme related... this is one weird disease!

Same here. Always feel like I'm leaning to the left or walking on a wet floor. I have to be very careful with walking.

After 2.5 years of treatment, I am finding days where my walking is becoming more effortless. But, this symptom is almost constant. I just switched from minocycline to doxycycline along with my other meds and I noticed a huge improvement in my balance as well as my awful upper spine pain.

ONe thing I do notice is if I have upper spine, neck, brain swelling feelings and a lot of pain, my balance is really bad, so Keebler is right about inflammation and balance problems.

Jess

I had two types of vertigo with this illness. Early on in my illness when I was extremely ill, I had a type of dizziness that was best described as feeling woozy and weak.

About a year ago I didn't have vertigo where the room was spinning. Rather, I felt like I might just topple over. Almost like I might need a cane at one minute but then be alright the next. i also felt like I was leaning to one side. I kept grabbing onto my husband. At the same time I started having some blurry vision and problems getting up if I'd been squatting on the floor.

It turns out this was from vitamin d deficiency. All of the aforementioned went away when I got my levels to 50. I had been at 16 even though i had been in the sun all summer.
