I haven't really liked chlorella in the past cause it didn't seem to do anything for me but now I am thinking I wan't taking enough. After looking at Dr. K's, recommended dosage what I was taking was ridiculously small, (like 5 pills a day at the max.)

So I am thinking of trying it again and wonder if it will be worth it to spend the extra money for the biopure brand??

I don't know the answer to your question but I take Nutricology, King Chlorella. It's grown in Canada & supposed to be tested for impurities. I used to get the Japanese kind but I stopped after Fukishima.

BioPure is probably very good. I'm not sure but it may be from Germany & grown in glass tubes. If you are trying to cut costs, the King Chlorella may be OK. It's about half the price of the BioPure.

This is pretty interesting if you want to see how it's grown in Germany.

Some people don't think it's good to use for mercury detox. It depends what "school of thought" you think is correct. I believe that Cuttler is against it but you'd have to study it further.

I haven't gotten into a heavy detoc protocol yet. I still have some more dental work to get done first.

I use energetic testing. A lot of stuff at the health food store tests not so good, and I know from past testing using an actual machine to measure (not energetic testing) that they were loaded with mercury, probably still are. BioPure is good and I used it for a while. These days I test slightly better for HealthForce Nutritionals brand "Chlorella Manna", so I feel that is also a quality brand, and is cheaper.

Manufacturers meet the requirements for contamination of their products per dose. You need to have a very pure supplement when moving your dose up beyond the recommended dose.

Chlorella is known to suck up certain toxins which makes it prone to environmental contaminates so I personally think it is best to get as pure a form of chlorella as you possibly can, especially if you are taking more than the recommended dose.

Edited to add: Biopure is very pure.

Terry

I get Dr. Mercola's chlorella at a very reasonable price. It was quite a bit less than BioPure.

Curious what brand, what dose, any other factors going on that were extraordinary in your mind that might have contributed (not asking you to retype the whole list of lyme, lyme treatments, ..., but anything that really stands out)?

I think some people do have allergies to it. You have to be careful with it due to that & also pollution from heavy metals & radiation.

I use Source Naturals Yaeyama.

Concerning radiation, here is some discussion on it and Source Naturals is confident that their product is not contaminated:

Biopure. No idea what caused the reaction. Violent vomiting with extreme shaking, weakness, and losing consciousness for about 12 hrs. Husband was about to bring me to ER when I started coming out of it. I will never take chlorella again.

I have been taking NOW brand. I take 2,000 mg of cracked cell wall 2 times a day. I take it with my meals as it will be digested better that way.

My experience is that it gave me much more energy but it took a couple weeks to really start making a difference.

I usually take 1 teaspoon 3x a day mixed in water.

I take it at least an hour away from Vit C as I heard the Vit C can knock metals out of chlorella.

"Is biopure chlorella worth the price?"

Yes, definitely. I wish it cost less, but it is grown under the best conditions.
