So I started bovine colostrum last friday...Friday-andsaturday I was fine. Sunday I upped the dose. Started to have anxiety and insomnia.continued the bovine to Thursday.

I have experienced increased energy and extreme insomnia.

I'm worried I over stimulated my immune system and woke up pathogens. I have been off bovine for 2days still not sleeping, racing thoughts. So scared I did bad damage or woke up pathogens... Sad and scared

Tricia, it is hard to think colostrum caused anxiety . My guess is that they are not related . What colostrum often does is fire up the immune system, and depending on the formula can cause a mild herx or a humdinger with feeling very tired and fluish. But it is doubtful anxiety is related to colostrum.

I would start the colostrum at half strength and work up . It can make you feel so fluish and tired ! Then i would deal alternately with the anxiety . You can take meds or a supplement like
GABA and taurine at bedtime , which will calm nervous system down . They are cheap and you will slwwp better too ! The aminos only work if you take a good B Vit daily bec they require Vit B 6 to convert to serotonin and dopamine .

I take taurine at night . If I had anxiety I would take GABA also . But I take a low dose zoloft , so anxiety is not a problem . Zoloft and prozac take care of both anxiety and depression.

Racing thoughts and insomnia are part of anxiety . You can try the natural way or try meds.

This can be easily fixed , so do not get too worried !

Go to amazon and look at a book called "The Mood Cure " or another one "The Way Up from Down" by Priscilla Slagle MD . These books give ideas on dealing with chemical imbalances with amino acids and VIT B 6 . If you have anxiety you have too much stress hormone, cortisol.

The aminoes like GABA or Taurine or tryptophan can be ordered cheaply off amazon. I would try that first before the prozac or zoloft route unless the symptoms are incapacitating . I personally am thankful for mes like prozac and zoloft ! I know many who are helped by them and none of the people I know who take them are "crazy". Basically , the problem is due to brain wiring and is inherited in my family .

You might try goat instead. They are less suseptible to gene sharing stealth. I assume because they did not get as many vaccines.
