Just wanted to come back and give some encouraging news to anyone hoping to have a child someday.

I was treated with pregnancy safe antibiotics throughout my entire pregnancy and two weeks ago I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Tests from Igenex of the placenta and cord blood show no evidence of lyme disease. He is perfect and beautiful.

I am breastfeeding (while remaining on antibiotics to protect the baby).

My wish is that this gives some of you hope.

Yay!!! That's fantastic news! With 2 daughters who both have lyme & co-infections, I am so desperately worried for them if they ever have children.

Thank you for this encouraging update.

Best wishes!

lymers - that is so wonderful to hear! Congratulations!

I was just wondering if you followed Dr. J's protocol for pregnant women with Lyme to achieve this?

I spoke to Dr. J by telephone and he approved of the antibiotics I was taking although I don't believe it's the exact protocol that he recommends. I took Moxatag ER and Zithromax throughout my pregnancy.

I was under the care of a well-known LLMD on the wast coast.

Thank you for this post. I desperately want another child, but am afraid I will pass my illness on. If you don't mind me asking, how did you feel prior to conceiving?
