I have been treating babesia duncani, Lyme and Bart since summer 2011. I'm on a combo of strong abx. I have had yeast issues since last November but until now I have been able to keep them manageable with a few days of Diflucan plus strong probiotics.

My problem is that the Diflucan doesn't seem to be working any more, and I can't get the yeast under control anymore with what I'm doing. In addition to the diflucan, I'm already using the oral protocol from Dr. B's guidelines, I drink kefir and eat plain yogurt, I take strong probiotics (just switched brands) and I take Florastor as well.

Two questions:
1) I know I need to do better on diet and I'm working on that. I have seen lots of lists of foods to avoid. Is there a website that lists foods I CAN eat, suggested menus, meals, etc?

2) Is there anything else I can do to get the yeast under control?

I am still on abx and would like to continue if possible since I feel like I'm making good progress with this regimen.

thanks!

WP-I am so glad you posted this. I am in same boat as you. Wondering what people eat for meals, etc cause it seems like you can't eat anything?!

Sorry I don't have advice for you but hopefully others can help us both! Good luck

Here are a few websites with food lists and recipes:

http://www.wholeapproach.com/diet/foodlist.php

http://www.thecandidadiet.com/foodstoeat.htm

Someone else on this list serve posted anti-candida websites in the past. Go to the search feature to find more links.

Some of the best recipe websites I found are for the Paleo diet... you can adapt these recipes to the anti-candida diet.

I've had a VERY tough time following the anti-candida diet but the Paleo recipes have really helped with meal planning...

Good luck to you both.

Also, here are some food blogs that I subscribe to... while not specifically anti-candida, but you can adapt as needed. These bloggers have diet restrictions and provide recipes that are free of sugar, gluten, dairy, etc.

Be cautious about too much yogurt. It always had too much sugar for me. Kefir wasn't much better on the sugar count.

Lymetoo, I agree about the yogurt. I looked at the label and vanilla yogurt can have over 20 grams/serving! I use unsweetened Greek yogurt with some truvia and occasionally throw in some berries.

WPinVA - sorry for your trouble! There are similar posts (including mine) that talk about the yeast issues while on abx.

Some have said (and I tend to agree) that if you are on abx long term that no amount of diet or natural antifungals will rid you of yeast.

This happened to me and I was able to get my llmd to put me back on diflucan. Since it's been about a year on the abx, they suggested that I try to stop the abx and see how I do.

I, too, take the VSL 3 DS, as well as sacch. b. and prebiotics (arabinogalactan).

I've heard anecdotally that if diflucan doesn't work that ketonazole might...

Good luck!
