So i just finished a month and a half on iv vancomycin and alinia. I finished last thursday and I have felt horrible since being off. This happenned when I came off 6 months of rocephin. I felt like hell for a week and then improved. What causes this and is this a typical occurence? And yes im detoxing as well. Milk thistle, garlic pills probiotic, decaf green tea and epsom salt baths

For me it was yeast. But if it continues, you may want to consider a co-infection. Especially where you felt nasty right away instead of a month later.
Hope you turn the corner soon!

When coming off abx. I always seem to experience a sort of "wash out" period where I do not feel very well. It lasts for about a week, then I begin feeling better. Perhaps our bodies readjusting to not having the meds in our system.....really don't know. Our immune system waking up again?

I dont believe it is yeast because I have no symptoms of yeast. I was on a cystbuster. The first 2 weeks was vanco only. The 2nd two weeks was vanco/ tindamax and the last was vanco / alinia. I have never crashed like this coming off orals only IV

I think you may need to adjust your thinking on that. The Lyme bacteria live in your cells, and you will never be able to get rid of them all.
What you're aiming to do is ease them into submission so that your immune system can keep a handle on them.
Most people who live to a ripe old age have this infection in their body. Your genetic makeup has a lot to do with what happens, and nutrition is important too.

Depending on how long you've been treating, I think your body has to learn to fight again, you've taken away a powerful crutch.
