Hi there. I'm not sure of best brand, but my doctor's office just told me to make sure it is Suntheanine, not just plain theanine. They said the dose should be about 150mg (or under 200mg).

My body like country life brand in general, and does very well with country life theanine, which is suntheanine. I take 1000mg daily, by the way, which is obviously a high dose as 200mg capsules is the biggest I've seen.

I have used suntheanine for years,it has really helped to relax and for sleep.I also use 5htp for the same reasons but I find suntheanine works just as well as 5htp without the stomach discomfort 5 htp can bring.
