My niece lives in the Poconos, PA. She found a tick behind her knee, has knee pain and redness.

Vector control says the tick was not attached long enough to transmit Lyme. I know that is false. She does not have insurance and there is no way she could afford Dr C - the pediatric Lyme specialist in PA

Any thoughts

Can you inquire if Dr.C has any discount programs. She needs to get on an antibiotic asap. She wouldn't have to see the pediatric spec. she could see another for adults. Check around and leave a message here for llmd or llnd.

If I were pregnant and desperate I would avoid herbs as there is not much info on fetal development on them . I might consider strongly a combo of birdbiotic from amazon ( doxycycline ) and definitely colloidal silver .

Dr Burgdorfer , who discovered the bacteria advocated silver OVER abx to 2 members of this board .
You can easily purchase pet abx that are pharmacy grade at amazon , Tractor Supply, or pet med sites .

If I used silver , I would consider strongly Argentyn 23 as I know many LLMDs are using it and it has tiny particles that allow better penetration and do not get stuck in cappilaries causing skin to turn blue . Another brand of silver that has studies behind it to explore is from American Biotech Labs and called Silver Biotic . You can get info on these . Other versions of silver that are used by LLMDs that I am reading about : Sovereign, Meso , Apex .

You might investigate grapefruitseed extract also . Sloan Kettering has a smart site looking at different herbs that gives good info .

My gut feeling is that silver and doxy would be a place to start , but as Bea Seibert says, everything has some calculated risk . People do take ABX in preganancy , so I do not think the risk of ABX is worse than the hell of a life with entrenched lyme . I am not a scientist , only a moderately intelligent lady who reads a lot .

I also read , but you might verify , that silver has been given to pregnant women.

You might consult personally with one of the silver labs and ask about toxicity , but what I have read about nano silver leads me to believe it is pretty safe now as there are many people reporting using it and even for a long time with no problems.

I am just trying to be helpful , but I Do think calling the lab office of a silver producer is reasonable , explaining the set of perilous circumstances you are facing . Also , check out the websites that sell silver and read their info :
Sovereign, Meso, Apex, and Silver Biotic ( Amer Boitech Labs ) for info.

I will say a prayer you are led to an answer soon.
