Does anyone know this? My son is 5 and I'm hoping to have him treated with a prophylactic antibiotic and I can't seem to find what kind is used in kids under 8 (as doxy is not advised).
Thank you!

My 3 year old is being treated with cefdinir and Zithromax combo for an active infection from last August. We are switching to a Bactrim/Zithromax combo to address possible bart.

We saw a doc today and my son was prescribed amoxicillin (as a prophylactic). Thanks for the responses!
