i have lost handfulls of hair with lyme. the sink drain just where i brush my hair always has hair in it and the bathtub has to be cleaned periodically.
somebody recommended biotin for my hair and it has really helped. now i can see thicker and healthier hair and it doesn't fall out as much.
anything else i can do for hair loss?

A couple of supplements really helped me with that. I use Viviscal and BioSil. The quality of my hair is much improved and I have lots of regrowth. It took time for results, but now I actually get compliments on my hair. I lost tons when I first got sick.
I still lose more than what's normal periodically bc I'm not well yet, but I think the supps help to off set it some.
My nails are also excellent after taking these supps. Very hard and they grow super fast.

It can, but actually there are a ton of factors that can cause it when ill with Lyme & co, etc. Eveything from fluctuations in thyroid/ adrenal function to nutrient deficiencies.
But, in any case, those supps helped me a lot. .The results are very noticeable to my hairdresser; also, people that haven't seen me in a while are like "wow, look at your hair, I love it!!" It's pretty long now too.
Makes me happy bc it was much thinner for quite a while.

Always make sure your ferritin is in the sweet zone too...70-90ish...but not much lower...
Hair will be hard pressed to grow if your iron stores are low.

Randi .. about a year or so ago I was losing hair and I bought a dandruff shampoo .. problem solved. I had no flakiness of scalp like with dandruff, but I felt the hair loss and itching was yeast related.
Since fungus and yeast are basically the same thing, I decided to try the dandruff shampoo.
