hope someone can tell me some experiences. When I became ill 4 years ago it started with severe coughing like whooping cough. During the time I didnt take antibiotics because I was too ill it disapeared slowly within one year. When I took antibiotics like tinidazol I got little cough, now I started Azi/Mepron and the coughing came back increasing during the 6 weeks Im in this treatment now. Now coughing is really debilitating, I have no other symptoms exept coughing and feeling bad but no headache or so. Can anyone tell me when the coughing will disapear? Im not sure that this coughing is from treatment alone. Any experiences?? Did anyone get burning in the lungs from this kind of treatment? Thank you!

Hi jupiter, I can't tell when the coughing will be over, or what for sure the actual cause is. But when I started treating babesia, I had to cough pretty often (along with other babesia symptoms). I have not had that symptom before starting the treatment.

Some people end up on asthma inhalers for Babesia. Might be worth a discussion with you physician.

Maybe you could also be hitting lungworm perhaps.
For lungworm, my doc suggests nebulizing potassium iodide.

@ Kern33: how long did your coughing last? did you have burning in the lungs? My cough is worse in the morning and evening.
@ kgg: I have an inhalter with cortison but I hesitate to use it. I dont know if its O.K. to suppress the immune reaction. I believe its the immune reaction because it started with treatment. Doctors in Germany know almost nothing about babesia.
@Tammy: can you give me some more information about the concentration of the potassiumjodide? How much in how much water?
Thanks.

- Be sure to avoid acetaminophen. It can damage lungs (as well as the liver). It's in lots of Rx and OTC products, too.
. . . Even a single dose of acetaminophen can reduce the bodys levels of glutathione, a peptide that helps repair oxidative damage that can drive inflammation in the airways, researchers have found. . . .

Avoid "fuzzy" clothing or textiles such as chenille or even corduroy. You might search on what a clear bedroom for someone with asthma would look like. Good advice to get rid of fibers that hold onto dust, etc.
Avoid vinyl shower curtains, too. I found that out the hard way. Who knew? Not I.
You might consider replacing your shower head - and also cleaning out drains if they harbor any gunk.

@Jupiter, my coughing was overall not a big deal, had much worse symptoms. But I remember it to be worse in the morning and evening too. I think it lasted for about 3 months under treatment, but I guess if it one of your worst symptoms it could well last some longer.
BTW, are you from Germany? I am from Hamburg, regards
