Hi everyone! This is more directed towards the ladies, but i'll take answers from anyone with knowledge.

This month, my symptoms got very aggressive starting on the 13th (about when ovulation must have been). Very low blood pressure, head and brain zaps, short of breath and very bad panic attacks that don't want to back off.

So my cycle started on the 22nd and my symptoms have still not improved much!!!! Have any of you found that 2 weeks out of the month are much worse than others?

Is it possible that the lyme has caused a hormonal imbalance? I can't take the unrelenting anxiety. I'm snappy with tight muscles and in a constant state of panic. It's misery!!

Are hormonal imbalances issues for anyone else out there? I'm 35 and mad as hell that I feel like I'm 75!!!! I want to go run around with my kids!!

Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated! :-)

This happens to me too:( it's dreadful!

Usually it takes me a week to recover after a period to get any sort of strength or balance back and then a couple weeks later it starts again.

I get alot of anxiety, insomnia, weakness, dizziness, brain stuff. I am actually just coming out f this cycle so I can totally relate to you.

For me, i think part of it has to do with increased inflammation in general in the body and also one doc told me than just before a period the immune system is weak so could cause a flare in symptoms.

A couple of months ago I tried evening primrose which made the siutation worse for me and messed up my cycle and this past month I tried homeopathic progesterone to see if it would help. It was the worse hormonal month I have had...increased all of my symptoms before period.

I had tried acupunture in the past a week before my period and this seems to help the most. I am going back to that for now and I'm not going to try any new supplements:)

This is just my experience with it. For anxiety I sometimes take RelaxMax by xymogen and it helps.

I hope it all calms down soon and u feel better:)

Keikko, thank you sooo much!! We sound EXACTLY alike! It's like 2 weeks of absolute torture every month!

I'm so afraid to try anything out of fear that it will make it worse. The anxiety and insomnia get crippling. I feel like i'm losing my mind and I have 2 little ones to tend to so i'm reliant on Xanax right now. Not a good thing, I know, but I have to get through it some how.

I'm going to try the RelaxMax that you use. It can't hurt right. Thank you so much & I hope you find relief too! If I find something that helps, i'll certainly pass it along! :-)

.
Low magnesium can cause irritability, anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks, muscle tension.

Muscles can twitch and spasm, including the alveoli (air sacs) in the lungs, which makes the lungs feel tight, and it's difficult to take a deep breath.

In addition to taking supplemental magnesium, you should look into Vitex, or Chasteberry.
This herb gently brings hormones back into balance.

Read the reviews at iHerb.com to see what people thought of it.

The relax max is sorta like xanax in the sense that increases GABA in the brain but naturaly. Has magnesium in it too:) thanks for the info on magnesuim Carol in PA, I forget about that.

I have tried the Vitex and it did help me for a while and then things went really wrong with that also for me. It made my mind super chatty, insomnia emotional outbursts, depression, etc. I won't touch the stuff now, even if its a tiny bit in tea. I am really sensitive to supplements though.

Jessig627...yes, if you find something that works let me know! There are months that arent as bad as others and I need to pay attention to what I'm doing different. Exercise can help balance hormones which I can't do much of right now but I'm trying:)

There is an intensification of immune response before and after menses. Increased symptoms may be a result of die-off.

congressional testimony for more info.

Dealing with increased die off should be helpful. With the permission of your LLMD perhaps cut meds and treatments that are adding to the die off load or increase detox and anti-inflammatory support.

Just want to say that I have finally realized a connection between my period and flare ups. I am bed ridden for 2-4 days starting the day my period starts, and also I think mid-cycle, so I'm guessing it coincides with ovulation. It's good to know I'm not just 'hormonal', 'menopausal' and thx for posting.
