I have had pain and stiffness in my right hip for about 10 years. Since about December, I have had a lot of right knee pain.
In February, my Primary doctor said it was a bone spur/tendonitis and to take ibuprofin. And if that doesn't improve, go to an orthopedic.
Today, when I tried to put on a ring, I noticed my right knuckle was tender and swollen... (too much to fit a ring)
When the Orthopedic dr. saw it he said "Did anyone ever tell you that you have Rheum arthritis?" He wrote a script for PT, and told me to wear a knee brace and see a rheumatologist.
I have an appt with my LLMD (Dr. E in NJ), but wanted to know if anyone else has had this diagnosis, and what possible [natural] diet/exercise/supplements were helpful.
Thanks everyone!

One thing I would do FOR SURE .. is make sure I have NO candida/yeast aggravating the symptoms. It can definitely cause joint pain and swelling.
As for PT, I would think that swimming would be the best if you have RA/Lyme.

My 6 year old daughter developed RA this past fall/winter when she became very sick with multiple infections. Our EDS practitioner believes the cause of RA is Epstein Barr Virus. She tested very high on the EDS machine for EBV but did not test on blood work for it. The EDS testing also showed RA. We caught the RA pretty early but she still had a hard time walking for a couple of months and had to be home from school at that time. Through rife treatments and herbal treatments, we healed the RA and she is back playing tennis again. The key is to knock down the EBV and the RA should go away, if that is indeed what it is.

Even a test can be misleading. I tested positive for RA before I had my lyme diagnosis.
The rheumatologist wasn't sure why I tested positive since he didn't felt I LOOKED like I had it.
After Lyme Treatment, I no longer test positive. Go figure. Rheumatologist doesn't understand. Hmmmmmm.

tdtid - if my practitioner's theory is right....your RA went away because you probably had high EBV at the time of your lyme diagnosis, as most of us do. Once your immune system improved after lyme treatment, your body was able to get rid of the EBV, and hence the RA, which would come from the EBV.

Protomyxzoa rheumatica is often the culprit behind RA - notice the last part of the name. Treating it by going on a low fat diet could help you.
Also Low Dose Naltrexone is miraculous at halting auto immune attacks. If anyone is diagnosed with anything auto immune, they should be taking LDN.

Tick Battler, I too had had that theory mentioned to me before. NOT by my doctor though. He still thinks the blood work had a glitch in the first place, so who really knows.
I do know that with Lyme, we do test positive for all sorts of things that can throw doctors off track. But what you say does make more sense than some of the crazy theories I've heard. :-)
Emmaleen, Have you had your doctor appointment yet and any update on this?
