Hello All
Just got my Fry Blood Smear back. Postive for FL1953 and Hemobartonella.
What is Hemobartonella?? How do you treat?
Also does anyone ever test negative with these tests...
Maybe this is my missing piece

This is what it said I dont understand it
Many (21 or greater organisms per total fields observed) coccobacilli adherent to erythrocytes - indicated by yellow arrow(s). This is suggestive of epierythrocytic bacteria(1,2) or an unspecified infectious and/or parasitic disease. Few biofilm community-like structures were observed. Hi tricia:
Sounds like a confirmation for a strain of bartonella as well as the FL1953.

Hemobartonella is haemottopic Mycoplasma or Hemoplasma.

I had every coinfection listed on the form tested (except Lyme), and they didn't find any antibodies to any infections, or anything resembling any bacteria, parasites, or biofilm in my blood smear. All results were negative.

I tested negative on the Fry blood smear. My husband tested positive for many biofilm colonies of protozoa.
To know exactly what the protozoa were he would have had to have a DNA test (I believe...it was last year, hard to remember). I know it was an extremely expensive test!
Frightening thing is that he had been symptom free for a year and a half when the test was performed (long story).

Maybe a few, but I'm betting most test positive. No one ever gets definite answers though for the most part. It's irritating.

If you take a cup of water from the ocean and there are no fish, does that mean there are no fish in the ocean?
If you tested with "many", you can go to the bank with that information. My daughter is very sick, and sometimes things can show up, and sometimes there is nothing.
He has been her dr for almost ten years now. We have walked a long journey together with his testing. It's exciting to see how it has developed, and I hope he lives long enough to find a cure.

21 Bacteria is really much. Are they also inside the cells or only attached?? In my case I had only one but was on Antibiotics one year just off for one month before the test. I also had substiantial biofilms with bacteria like structures inside. But negative for FL1953.
They said in most cases they se the hemobartonella disappear when the protozoal infection like FL1953 is treated.
I think you should try the tetracyclines, and dont forget the original tetracycline which can be taken in high doses. This helped me much much more than Doxy. Clari was also pretty good, as well as telithromycin.
I reacted significantly to mebendazol, Albendazol and most to praziquantel. I realized that praziquantel together with Atovaquone and Clari+tetracycline was much more effective than alone but I dont know which of the three increased the effectiveness of praziquantel.
The two day dosing in the D. K. protocol is much to short in my opinion. Many did take it much longer and I already took it a few days for several times.
Good luck.
