Anyone know where to get a tic tested in Iowa? A friend's son was sent home with a tic that the school nurse removed from behind his ear. She is very open minded and I want to give her good advice on what to do. Iowa is where I lived and contracted Lyme disease. Thanks for your time and information. orrn

Since testing a tick takes time....and the tests are not highly accurate, I would not hesitate to treat ASAP. It is too risky to wait. If it was my child, without a doubt, I would treat NOW.

Do not wait!! Takes 2-3 wks to get the results back and it CAN come back falsely negative. -------------------- --Lymetutu-- Opinions, not medical advice!
