So much energy spent surrounding ins issues.

Finally the time has come and I am soooo scared.
I didn't see this fear coming.

The fear before is usually worse than the actual experience for most people.

you were right. It was so easy. No pain at all. The injection didnt hurt just a little sting,not like a bee but more like a paper cut.

My arm was a little sore for about two days. After that I forget its even there.

Having the dressing changed and cleaned the next day was, well lets say unexpected experience.i do have a bumpy rash that does not itch on my forearm that the nurse said was fine.

So, showering. Please someone tell me how to cover this alone. I'm just cracking myself with all these great ideas I come up with that ultimately fail.

Google DryPro PICC protector. They work great. If you are on the cusp between sizes after measuring your forearm and bicep, order the smaller of the two sizes. The cuffs are tapered to allow cutting off 1/4" sections to enlarge size.

Also have your nurse change to a betadine (sp?) dressing kit. Most all of us have had reaction to the standard dressing,and were switched over to this type.
