My 16 yrs old daughter was recently diagnose with lyme. She's developmentally delayed and non verbal. I believe this is going on for a couple of months now. She's been having knee pain but we believed that was because of an previous injury. I became more suspicious when her wrists and "good knee" start also swelling. She was born with moderate/severe hearing loss. Her hearing was stable until a couple of months ago that hearing test show a decrease in her hearing. could this will be related with lyme?

YES! she needs to be on HIGH DOSE minocycline, ie 300 mg daily, has good CNS penetration, also acupuncture for this can be very helpful, address congenital kidney yin deficiencies since she was born with hearing losses. better do this and mino before her eyes get affected. lyme affects and attacks the weak parts of the body, in her case joints and ears.

Yes! Yes! YES! I've had significant hearing loss in my left ear due to lyme and moderate hearing loss in my right. Previously, I did not have this problem. I have seen a hearing specialist and have had many tests,so this is a for sure thing. I also took minocyline for my lyme.

Yes,but I am not going to tell you that a certain abx is needed as that is up to your LLMD. I lost hearing intermittently in my left ear for a long time.
I couldn't tolerate minocycline so I got rid of that with Lyme treatment plus meds for coinfections.
With good treatment it can go away. I am in remission and no more hearing issues.

- Yes, lyme can cause hearing loss. So can certain antibiotics and so can treating without excellent liver support that offers some protection for the ears.
So can in the ear pods, other noise when on antibiotics. Detail:
