When you did I.v. Rocephin/ Ceftriaxone how did you do it? And how long?
Did you do it 4 days a week or 3 days a week with 4g lik Dr. B suggests? Did you add in another antibiotic? If yes the whole time or just together with Rocephin?
Thanks.

I started 2g once a day for the first two months then changed to 2g 2x/day for 4 days on and 3 days off.
I was always on oral Zith and Actigal, and rotated Rif, Mepron, Bactrim and Tindimax combos through 14 months. I then finished last two months with IV Doxy and other combos
Always add only one new ABX at a time to better gauge your reaction and tolerance levels.
But I've been on 4 rounds of IV antibiotics. Every time I've been on Rocephin, I did 2 grams once a day, 7 days a week. The very first time I did it, I was only on Flagyl with it, subsequent times I've been on one or two other antibiotics.
For most of the time that I've been treating, I've been on more than one antibiotic at a time.
The first round, I was on Rocephin IV for I think 3 months.
Second round, I did Rocephin for like... i think 4 months.
Third round, Rocephin for 4 months, and then I was supposed to do Zithromax, but my insurance wouldn't pay for it. So I got the line pulled, switched insurance after the new year, and got on Zithromax for 3 months.
So 14 months out of the last... six years, I've been on IV.

I did Rocephin 2g once a day for 5 days for 4 months and then did one month 2 grams twice a day for 4 days on, 3 off.
I did well in the beginning and then just crashed even while on other abx. When I switched to IV Clindamycin, everything turned around and after 18 months on IV, I am in remission.
