We saw a Dr yesterday who treats lymp patients but is not an LLMD. She is perscribing Minocylcine and I am worried about permanent teeth staining.
How many people have had experience with Minocycline with children? I'm not talking about plaque build up, but permanent discoloration. Aparently Mino can do this to adult teeth. There is a shortage of Doxycycline so this is why she perscribed Mino.
Any thoughts? I live in an area where there are no LLMDs.

Well... not sure I would do that- Amoxicillin is usually a better choice--
but having said that, I have been on both Doxycycline and Minocycline oral medications, and both times, developed
black staining on my back molars (permanent teeth) yuck! BUT, my dentist was able to 'sandblast' it all off.

Talk to your child's dentist about it. They will probably do an xray. Has your child lost all of his or her baby teeth?
If the crowns of the permanent teeth have formed, it should be ok with the exception of the wisdom teeth which will most likely come out anyway.

- I cannot speak about the dental question.
Mino can cause vertigo, vision spasms (due to inner ear stress) and nausea - for many. There are things to help with that, especially - Ear support that can be achieved with liver support.
