My LLMD has me on Rifampin with IV Rocephin. In the past I had been on it with Zithro or Doxy and it worked great, especially on eyes. I am wondering if not taking it with those other drugs is the reason my eyes are terrible right now, although some other Bart symptoms HAVE gone away. Could someone please give me some insight?

Not really able to help. Just wondering if you have a cyst buster on board like flagyl or tindamax?

I was taking IV Flagyl 2 consecutive days a week, but after 7 doses, I developed full body Neuopathy and I stopped. Almost 4 weeks later, neuropathy is still very bad. I have upped my B vitamins, but very little help.

I had two stints with Rifampin,
Round 1: Zith, Rif, Doxy, had to quit 3 months later with elevated liver enzymes
Round 2: IV Rocephin, Zith and Rif. Had to quit 3 months later to replace Rif with Mepron to fight off a babs relapse.
I never did Tini or Flagyl with Rifampin, so can't comment if that's too much at once.

Oh, you misunderstood my post, gmb. I was asking if Rifampin needs either Doxy or Zithro to combat Bart. I am doing Rifampin with Rocephin only right now.

Zith would be my first/safest choice for you to add at this time. I didn't recall that Rifampin really needed another class of ABX to be effective. Only that Rifampin messes with a lot of other drugs and to use caution.
I don't know how Rocephin would be working with Doxy. I went from IV Rocephin to IV Doxy since they hit different lyme forms. And I know that for many here Rif and Doxy was a real strong Bart combination and worked well.

Yes, I was wondering about the Doxy / Rocephin combo also. I had excellent luck in the past with Zithro and Doxy/Zithro with rifampin, excellent luck! Thank you for your help.

I take generics at every opportunity. Actually I think my Rx insurance coverage requires using a generic if avialable, unless the Dr specifically required the name brand.
