I've exhausted my options with bug repellents (all the chemical ones irritate my skin and the botanical ones are too strong with essential oils and aggravate my allergies).
I'm decided to get creative and see if there are herbs that repel ticks.
I'm thinking of making a strong tea and using it for a bath soak.
I've had good luck with herbs calming my skin when I do this (I use calendula and white willow if people are curious).
I'm a tick/mosquito magnet and even if I cover up, I get swarmed, so I really need to try something to cover my skin.

My land is infested with ticks. I started taking Garlic tablets by mouth about 3 months ago - have only had 1 tick bite since then - I was getting 3-4 bites a day on the weekends when working in the yard.
Is the garlic helping, can't say for sure, but something is keeping the ticks away and it's the only change I've made!!! Hubby is not taking the garlic and he's still getting bit.

Wow, thanks Steve! I'm already doing Calendula/marigold sometimes (and I noticed that mosquitoes stay away on rare days and I couldn't figure out why).
Thanks! I think I'll add some rose to the mix.
Those links were REALLY helpful.
As for garlic, I eat tons and no relief from mosquitoes.
I also tried on awhile back where you take certain vitamins for awhile (it was on of the B vitamins) and I got some of the worst bites ever.
