i use coconut oil and do oil pulling at least 2-3 times a week.
the liquid turns to white, almost solid when i spit it out. really thick....
my friend does it and said hers is always so thin and runny.
why is mine so thick then? and also my sinuses start draining after i do it. they are always stopped up.

Temperature difference. The melting point determines whether it is a solid or liquid.

Are you doing it long enough? 20 mins is what's recommended.
It should be watery and foamy when you are ready to spit it out.
Also, I've heard the better oil to use for this is sesame oil or sunflower oil. I've used coconut oil also, but it's the other oils that are most recommended.
Reminder - afterwards rinse with salted water to cleanse everything out.

yep, try to, but sometimes can do only 10-15 as my mouth gets sooooo sore.
rinse really well and use baking soda toothpaste.
no matter what oil i use tho, it comes out really thick and pasty...
maybe i'm just all gooked up...

I do oil pulling sometimes, and with sesame seed oil - I swish around a small amount for 20 minutes and spit out, with no residual symptoms. You might try using that and see whether you get any side effects afterwards or not.

Coconut oil does turn solid at a higher temp than many other oils. However, it is certainly liquid at body temperature, for any human who is alive (unless frozen alive medically).
Makes me think you're pulling out some gross stuff.
